The Cass Theatre opened on Main Street in Cass City in 1926 as the Pastime Theatre, part of the Thumb Theatres circuit. In 1935 it was enlarged, renamed the Cass and given a Streamline Moderne makeover with a neon-lit triangular marquee and a vertical sign. After fire damage on November 29, 1939, it reopened on February 28, 1940. It still shows first-run films on its single screen, usually on weekends, and bills itself as the home of the world's best popcorn. Coyote vs. Acme plays September 25-27, 2026.
