Make time for these
Detroit character Larry Mongo reopened his old downtown bar for a one-night party in 2007 and simply kept it open. There's live music every Friday and Saturday, usually from house band Carl & Company, fronted by “Carl the Human Jukebox” playing classic rock and soul, and Mongo himself often joins in. The bar has been featured on Esquire TV's Best Bars in America (2014) and on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern.
