Make time for these
Buddy's opened in 1946 at Six Mile and Conant and bills itself as the home of the Original Detroit-Style Pizza, square with crispy, cheesy edges. The downtown restaurant opened on December 11, 2019, on the ground floor of the Madison Building, in what was once the lobby of the 1917 Madison Theatre designed by C. Howard Crane. Expect about 200 seats, a bar and a seasonal patio across from the Detroit Opera House. Beyond pizza there are soups, salads, pastas and sandwiches.
