01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

Since 2010 Brewery Vivant has brewed European, mostly Belgian-inspired beer inside the historic chapel of a refurbished funeral home. It calls itself America's first LEED-certified brewery and publishes a Beer the Change sustainability report every year. The kitchen cooks French-leaning food from local ingredients: beer cheese with fried soft pretzels, duck nachos with brie cream, an olive burger with Peppadew cheese sauce. You can book the Chapel, with its original wood beams, or the smaller Walloon Room with its own taps, and the beer garden runs three seasons a year. GR Trans Foundation and the GR Pride Center hold their „Cheers, Queers!” happy hour here.
