Make time for these
Bishop Foley Catholic High School opened in Madison Heights in 1965, named for John Samuel Foley, who led the Diocese of Detroit for three decades around the turn of the twentieth century. Run by the Archdiocese of Detroit as a college-prep school, it has educated generations of metro Detroit Catholic families from its Campbell Road campus. Singer and songwriter Porcelain Black attended Bishop Foley in the early 2000s but left before graduating, chasing a music career that led to a major-label record deal in the years that followed. The school has weathered the decline in Catholic school enrollment that closed many of its peers around Detroit, and it remains open today, still drawing students from across Oakland and Macomb counties.
