01 / The story of this place
Make time for these
Big Rock Italian Chophouse fills Birmingham's old Grand Trunk Western depot, which went up starting in October 1930 and opened in 1931. After the railroad left in 1978, the building became Norman's Eton Street Station in 1984 and then Big Rock Chophouse in 1997, which closed at the end of 2021. Cameron Mitchell Restaurants bought it in 2024 and reopened it in summer 2025 as an Italian chophouse. Expect USDA prime steaks and chops, handmade pastas and classics like veal parm, plus The Rock cigar club inside.
