Emily Fox Grinnell (Mrs. J. D. Grinnell) founded the volunteer company, which calls itself the oldest continuously operating community theatre in Michigan. It performs in its own theatre on Columbus Avenue, and 2026-27 is its 109th season. Classics like The Crucible and Guys & Dolls share the season with family shows, and the holiday production comes with Santa and hot cocoa. There are relaxed performances too, for audiences who need a sensory-friendly setting. The Savannah Sipping Society takes the stage January 15-17, 2027.
