Athens Liquor has been part of Greektown since 1997, sitting among the restaurants and bars of Monroe Street. Owner Ather Butris runs it, and local TV described it in 2024 as a Greektown staple. It's a classic Detroit party store for wine, beer and spirits, the kind of place you hit before a Lions game or on the walk back to your downtown hotel room for the night.
