The Star Southfield Center opened on June 20, 1997, on West 12 Mile Road as a Loeks-Star megaplex. David Rockwell's group designed it, and they went big and flamboyant: 20 auditoriums held 6,225 people. It was best known for its stadium seating and rocking-chair seats. Loews Cineplex and then AMC took over, running it as the AMC Star Southfield 20. AMC closed it on April 1, 2020.

A 9-screen, 1,171-seat first-run cinema on 23 Mile Road in Macomb Township, built inside a former Kroger. Every seat is a reserved leather recliner, the biggest room is an EMX with Dolby Atmos, and there's a full bar in the lobby.
