The Detroit story
Detroit acquired Mykhailiuk from the Lakers in February 2019 in a trade for Reggie Bullock, adding a young shooter with international pedigree from Ukraine's junior national teams. He spent parts of two seasons with the Pistons, developing his outside shot before moving on to other NBA stops. He later won an NBA championship as a reserve with the 2023–24 Boston Celtics, and by 2025 had settled in with the Utah Jazz, where in November of that year he scored a career-high 28 points, fittingly, against his former team, the Pistons.
