The Detroit story

Marguerite MacIntyre is listed as born in Detroit on May 11, 1965; little has been published about her childhood, so her link to the city rests on her birthplace. She trained as a singer as well as an actress and began appearing on American television in the mid-1990s, including a memorable guest turn as Miss Rhode Island in the 1994 Seinfeld episode 'The Chaperone'. Her first long-running role was Nicole Trager, the kind-hearted psychologist who takes in the mysterious teenager of ABC Family's science-fiction drama Kyle XY. She is best known as Elizabeth 'Liz' Forbes, the tough town sheriff and mother of Caroline, on The CW's The Vampire Diaries, a role she played from 2009 to 2017. She has also worked as a writer and producer.
