The Detroit story
The Pistons drafted Singler 33rd overall in 2011, fresh off leading Duke to the 2010 national championship and earning tournament MVP honors, but he spent his rookie season playing in Spain before joining Detroit in July 2012. He quickly became a fixture in the lineup, playing all 82 games with 36 starts in 2013–14 while averaging just under 10 points a game, and logged another 58 games the following season. He left Detroit after the 2014–15 season and later played for the Oklahoma City Thunder before his NBA career ended in 2019.
