The Detroit story
Arkeisha Knight was born and raised in Detroit. She started out performing wherever she could in the Detroit area, from local clubs to schools and charity events, and signed an early deal with a local label that later fell through. Her persistence paid off in 2016, when Drake invited her through Instagram to open his Summer Sixteen tour stop in Detroit. The exposure led to a contract with Republic Records, the singles “For Everybody” (2017) and “Ice Me Out” (2018), and her debut album Stacked in 2019. She has recorded with Big Sean, Meek Mill, Lil Wayne and Iggy Azalea, and released her second album, The Last Doll, in late 2024. Alongside music she built an acting career, including a role in the Starz drama BMF, a series about Detroit's Black Mafia Family drug organization, bringing her hometown's story back to the screen.
