The Detroit story
Jayson Blair, the actor (not to be confused with the former New York Times journalist of the same name), was born in Detroit and grew up in Macomb County, where he attended L'Anse Creuse High School-North in Macomb Township and played on the tennis team. He moved to Los Angeles to act and built a steady television career in comedy. He was a regular on MTV's The Hard Times of RJ Berger (2010–2011) as the jock Max Owens, and on NBC's The New Normal (2012–2013), Ryan Murphy's comedy about a gay couple starting a family, as the flirtatious Clay. He has also appeared in the cheerleading drama Hellcats, the web series Whatever This Is and a number of films and guest roles. His Detroit story is that of a Macomb County upbringing and a suburban high school.
