The Detroit story
Jamie Spaniolo began rapping as a teenager in Detroit and freestyled at school with his friend Paul Methric; both remember watching the young Proof, whom they called “the mecca of freestyling”. Every week the two went to the rap battles at the Hip Hop Shop on West Seven Mile. In 1992 Spaniolo co-founded the group House of Krazees as Big-J and later Mr. Bones, releasing five albums by 1996 and a solo EP, The Demon Inside, in 1994. When the group broke up, Insane Clown Posse invited him and Methric to Psychopathic Records, and in 1997 they relaunched as Twiztid. Their debut Mostasteless (1998) was followed by Freek Show (2000) and W.I.C.K.E.D. (2009), which reached No. 11 on the Billboard 200. His name comes from Marvel's Multiple Man. After leaving Psychopathic in 2012, the duo founded their own label, Majik Ninja Entertainment, in 2014.
