The Detroit story

Jack Falahee was born on February 20, 1989, and raised in Ann Arbor, the university city on the western edge of the Detroit region, where his mother worked as a speech pathologist and his father as a neurosurgeon. After growing up in Washtenaw County he left Michigan to train as an actor and worked his way up through stage roles and television guest spots. His breakthrough came in 2014, when Shonda Rhimes' production company cast him as Connor Walsh, the sharp, ambitious law student in How to Get Away with Murder; he played the part for all six seasons, until 2020. Along the way he also led the PBS Civil War drama Mercy Street as the Confederate spy Frank Stringfellow.
