Ella Anderson was born on March 26, 2005, in Ypsilanti, the Washtenaw County city west of Detroit that is home to Eastern Michigan University. She began acting as a child and won wide recognition as Piper Hart, the sharp-tongued younger sister in Nickelodeon's superhero comedy Henry Danger, which ran from 2014 to 2020. On the big screen she played Rachel Rawlings opposite Melissa McCarthy in the 2016 comedy The Boss. As she grew older she also began writing and releasing her own songs, presenting herself as a singer-songwriter as well as an actress. Her connection to the Detroit area rests on her Michigan birth; her career has been based in the Los Angeles entertainment industry.
