The Detroit story
Crystal Reed was born on February 6, 1985, and raised in the Detroit area by parents of Polish and Native American heritage. She graduated from Roseville High School in Macomb County in 2003 and entered the Bachelor of Fine Arts acting program at Wayne State University, but left when she began to doubt it was the right fit. She moved to Chicago and worked in local theater productions, then headed to Hollywood in December 2008. Her breakthrough came as the archer Allison Argent on MTV's Teen Wolf from 2011 to 2014, a role she revisited in Teen Wolf: The Movie in 2023. She went on to play Sofia Falcone in Gotham and Abby Arcane in Swamp Thing, and starred in the horror film Ghostland.
