The Detroit story

Behler was born in Livonia, in western Wayne County, and came up through local rock bands, including the Meanies and Sinclair. He got his break as drum technician for Megadeth's drummer Gar Samuelson, and when Samuelson left, bandleader Dave Mustaine hired Behler in 1987. He played on the band's third album, So Far, So Good... So What! (1988), and appeared in Penelope Spheeris's documentary The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years. Mustaine dismissed him in 1989, citing drug problems, and his own drum tech, Nick Menza, took over the job. Behler returned to the Detroit area, where, according to former Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover, he lives and attends the band's shows when they come to town. He plays in the Detroit band Motor City Freaks.
