The Detroit story
Wilcox signed a multi-year contract with Detroit in July 2009 after earlier stints with the Los Angeles Clippers and Seattle/Oklahoma City, bringing an athletic, high-energy game to the Pistons' frontcourt during a rebuilding period for the franchise. He spent two seasons in Detroit before moving on, later playing for the New York Knicks, where a heart condition discovered during a physical briefly threatened his career before he returned to action.
