The Detroit story
Chloe Moriondo was born and raised in metro Detroit and started her YouTube channel in January 2014, at 11, with soft ukulele covers and early originals recorded at home. The channel grew to nearly three million subscribers and more than 220 million views, and it led to a record deal while she was still a teenager in Michigan. Her bedroom-pop debut Rabbit Hearts (2019) was followed by the louder, pop-punk-inflected Blood Bunny (2021) and the hyperpop-tinged Suckerpunch (2022). She writes about adolescence, queerness and anxiety with a mix of sweetness and bite that has made her part of the generation of internet-born indie artists.
