The Detroit story
Knight arrived in Detroit after one standout season at Kentucky and immediately became a full-time starter, earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 2012, the first Pistons rookie to do so since Grant Hill in 1995. Over two seasons he averaged better than 13 points a game and scored 30 or more points three times, before being traded to Milwaukee in a deal for Brandon Jennings. His NBA path later brought him back to Detroit briefly in February 2020, when Cleveland sent him to the Pistons as part of the trade that moved Andre Drummond to the Cavaliers.
