The Detroit story
Tolliver, a Creighton product who carved out a long NBA career mostly on one-year deals with a series of teams, first arrived in Detroit in a December 2014 trade for Tony Mitchell. He gave the young, rebuilding Pistons roster floor-spacing and veteran professionalism off the bench for two seasons before moving on. In July 2017 he returned to Detroit on a one-year contract, playing another season for the team before continuing his journeyman career with Sacramento, Memphis and Philadelphia.
