The Detroit story
Drafted ninth overall out of Connecticut in 2012, Drummond spent one college season before jumping to the NBA and quickly became one of the league's most prolific rebounders. He led the Pistons back to the playoffs in 2016, their first postseason berth since 2009, and made his first All-Star team that year. Built around a physical low-post game and relentless effort on the boards, he broke Bill Laimbeer's franchise record for career offensive rebounds and climbed the club's all-time rebounding list. Drummond led the NBA in total rebounds in multiple seasons while wearing a Pistons uniform, becoming a fixture first at the Palace of Auburn Hills and then at Little Caesars Arena, before being traded to Cleveland in February 2020.
