The Feast of Saint Valentine

At Detroit’s historic Cliff Bell’s, the Valentine’s weekend of 2016 offered two nights of live jazz performed by the Clif Wallace Quintet, featuring singer Meagan McNeal. The evenings included a special multi-course dinner by Executive Chef Joe Susko, with starters like diver scallops in spicy tomato broth, foie gras with brioche and strawberries, and pork cheeks braised in Faygo root beer. Main courses ranged from Chateaubriand for two, smoked portobello steak, Toscana-style chicken, to coriander and orange dusted tuna. Dessert was a Black Forest brownie with morello cherries and white chocolate mousse. Presale tickets were priced at $20. This event blended jazz music and gourmet dining in the heart of Detroit.
