John Raymond & S. Carey: Shadowlands

John Raymond and S. Carey met while studying music at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and have been making music together ever since. Carey is known as Justin Vernon's right-hand man and has worked with artists like Sufjan Stevens, while Raymond is a Grammy-nominated trumpeter and composer teaching at Indiana University. In 2019, they reunited creatively to explore a new sound, supported by producer Sun Chung and top-tier musicians. Their album 'Shadowlands' combines jazz improvisation with warm, meditative indie songwriting. Their show at The Ark offered a dynamic mix of soaring anthems and intimate moments. Tickets went for $25 at the door.
