Paul Vornhagen Quartet

Paul Vornhagen is an accomplished jazz saxophonist, flutist, and vocalist with six Detroit Music Awards across categories such as Jazz Reeds and World Music Recording. He began his music career in Ann Arbor, starting flute performances in 1972 with the University of Michigan dance department. Primarily self-taught initially, he later studied at City College of San Francisco and Washtenaw Community College. Over his career, he has performed in diverse locations including Hawaii, Mexico, San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, Havana, Paris, England, and the US Virgin Islands. The live recording at Blue LLama Jazz Club highlights his cool tone and swinging style on tenor saxophone and flute.
