Michael Zaporski

Michael Zaporski is known for his work as pianist with the late Detroit saxophonist Sam Sanders and for his jazz tours and teaching in West Africa supported by the U.S. State Department. This unique journey shaped his style, combining classic American jazz with African rhythmic influence. Over the years, he performed with jazz greats like Jackie McLean and Art Blakey. His own group, FutureVisions, has played at festivals and colleges and released multiple acclaimed recordings, including one featuring orchestra and chorus. At his January show at Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, Zaporski brought this energetic and sophisticated sound to the stage.
