Ron English at Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe

Ron English and his band, warmly received by the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe audience, bring together Detroit’s rich blend of genres. Ron’s background includes Motown with Martha Reeves, creative funk with Lyman Woodard and Wendell Harrison, unique sounds with Doug Hammond and Faruq Z. Bey, plus gospel and praise music. During the show, the Ron English Crew performed updated jazz standards, original pieces from previous recordings, and debuted new songs in development. Band members include James Hughes on saxophone, Zen Zadravec on piano, Jaribu Shahid on bass, and Renell Gonsalves on drums.
