Gerard Gibbs Concert

Since childhood, Gerard William Gibbs has been passionate about jazz, introduced to the music of Richard “Groove” Holmes by his father at age three. Holmes became his personal mentor and greatly influenced his musical path. Raised in Detroit, Gibbs started with classical piano before emerging as a skilled jazz organist. He has worked with legends like Jimmy Smith and others. Today, he performs nationally and leads groups such as RYZ and Gerard Gibbs & ORGANized Crime. His concert at Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe offered a deep dive into his rich jazz artistry and connections to legendary jazz organists.
