On July 18, the legendary keyboard sounds of Joe Sample came alive again at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms. Nick Sample, Joe’s son, led the show with a fresh setlist drawn from Joe’s extensive catalog, spanning Crusaders classics to heartfelt solo work. Hits like "Street Life" and "Rainbow Seeker," alongside others such as "Free As The Wind," "Seven Years of Good Luck," and "Hippies on a Corner," filled the night with groove. Local stars Phil Whitfield, Kris Kurzawa, Louis Jones III, Houston Patton, and Vincent Chandler joined in for a soulful celebration.
