Marcus Elliot Broken Seeds Vol. II

Marcus Elliot is a multifaceted saxophonist and composer who has emerged as a key figure in Detroit's music scene. The New York Times praised his convincing and refined tone, while the Detroit Free Press described him as a representative of the next generation of jazz. He received the 2020 Kresge Fellowship for his creative vision and artistic excellence. Currently, he teaches jazz saxophone at Wayne State University and leads the Creative Arts Orchestra at the University of Michigan. He's collaborated with notable artists such as Terence Blanchard and Karriem Riggins. This show featured material from his Broken Seeds Vol. II album at Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms.
