Marcus Elliot Broken Seeds Vol. II

Marcus Elliot is recognized as one of Detroit’s leading saxophonists. The New York Times described him as “convincing and confident, evolved in touch and tone,” while the Detroit Free Press sees him as representing the next generation of jazz. His music aims to remind himself and listeners what a gift it is to be human. He received the Kresge Fellowship in 2020 and teaches jazz saxophone at Wayne State University. He also directs the Creative Arts Orchestra at the University of Michigan. Over his career, Marcus has collaborated with legends like Terence Blanchard and Brian Eno. His performance at the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms was a memorable night reflecting his creative depth.
