Ralphe Armstrong Trio

Ralphe Alan Armstrong got his start straight out of Detroit's Cass Technical High School on the east side. At 17, he landed a spot with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, competing alongside Jaco Pastorius at auditions. Armstrong stood out with his fretless bass playing and later joined Jean-Luc Ponty's band, contributing to landmark fusion albums. At the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, you could experience his characteristic style, showcasing why he's considered one of the great electric bass players on record.
