Michael Zaporski

Michael Zaporski made his mark as the pianist for the late Detroit saxophonist Sam Sanders and has deepened his sound through travels and teaching jazz in West Africa under the U.S. State Department. His music mixes American jazz traditions with West African-inspired rhythmic dialogues.

Over the years, Zaporski has performed with legendary jazz musicians and led his own group, FutureVisions, at festivals and colleges. On April 12, he brought his unique fusion of energetic rhythms and haunting melodies to the stage at Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe in Grosse Pointe Farms.
