Noah Jackson & Full Circle

Noah Jackson, a bassist, cellist, and composer from Detroit specializing in Black American music and classical music, performs with his band Full Circle at Cliff Bell’s. He holds degrees from Michigan State University and Manhattan School of Music and has collaborated with world-renowned artists including NEA Jazz Master Abdullah Ibrahim and Branford Marsalis. His performances span internationally respected venues such as Royal Albert Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Jackson released his critically acclaimed debut album Contemplations - A Suite in 2011 and led Full Circle at the Detroit Jazz Festival in 2012. He has collaborated broadly across the jazz spectrum and worked with the American Ballet Theater. His jazz and string quartet project, Ellington to the World: Generational Power in Black Culture and Spaces, was supported by grants from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the New York Council of the Arts and premiered at the Schomburg Center in 2019. Since March 2021, Jackson has been the Curator and Artist-in-Residence at Cliff Bell’s in Detroit, where he performs regularly and hosts guest artists.
