Chris Plum

A lifelong fan of mid-century nightclub jazz combos and crooners, Chris Plum grew up in Detroit listening to the big band and jazz vocal sounds of the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s on his parents’ Victrola. This shaped his sound, which pays homage to jazz legends while highlighting his original songwriting. Plum has played iconic venues worldwide, including Ronnie Scott’s and Royal Albert Hall in London, and major festivals like Montreux Jazz Festival and South by Southwest. Recently, he formed a band of Detroit jazz musicians to record a new album, "The Small Hours," nominated for Outstanding Jazz Recording at the Detroit Music Awards. His show at Cliff Bell’s began at 7:30 p.m. Tickets were $25.
