Leafar Village

Rafael Leafar is a rare multi-instrumentalist from Detroit known for his passionate, intellectually disciplined, and spiritually charged performances. His music doesn’t fit into any single genre but draws deeply from jazz traditions and a rich musical family background. He studied at Sterling Heights High School, Detroit School for the Arts, Detroit Civic Jazz Orchestra, and the New School for Jazz, gaining a strong foundation. Leafar has performed and recorded with distinguished musicians like Reggie Workman and Marcus Belgrave. The shows took place in the intimate setting of Cliff Bell’s, offering fans a chance to dive into his distinctive jazz sound across two performances.
