Salim Washington Quartet

Salim Washington served as the inaugural International Visiting Professor of African American and African Diasporic Studies at Columbia University and leads the Performing Arts department at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. A composer and multi-reed instrumentalist, Washington performed pieces on flute, tenor saxophone, oboe, and bass clarinet at Cliff Bell’s. The concert featured jazz and Afro-diasporic music, split into two sets at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Tickets were $20.
