Legal Document Assistance Walk-In Day

Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, the GR Trans Foundation offered drop-in help for updating or obtaining driver licenses, state IDs, birth certificates (MI and out of state), Social Security cards, and passports. This free service was specifically for trans and nonbinary people living in Kent County. Financial assistance was also available. It was a first-come, first-served setup, so patience was needed if there was a wait. No appointment was required, just bring along your current documents including any old passports or certified name change evidence.
