Community Recital - Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra

Founded in 1971, the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra (KSO) is the oldest orchestra in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and one of five symphony orchestras in the Lake Superior region. Composed of Michigan Tech students, faculty, staff, and community musicians, the KSO offers four to five concerts annually, including orchestral masterworks, choral-orchestral works, music theater, ballet, opera, and pops concerts. The Community Recital showcases a diverse selection of community musicians, inviting vocalists and instrumentalists of all levels to participate, either as soloists or in ensembles.

The event is part of the Michigan Tech Music Series, which promotes live music collaboration among students, faculty, and community members across the region. Dr. Joel Neves leads the KSO.

This recital takes place at Portage Lake United Church in Houghton. Additional program details and potential updates are provided through digital programs and onsite information.
