Sunday Brunch with Jarrod Champion

Jarrod Champion is a self-taught pianist, vocalist, organist, and multi-instrumentalist from a Detroit suburb, raised by two trained pianist parents. Initially a rock musician, he expanded into jazz, blues, and traditional country/folk scenes around Detroit. He identifies strongly with early New Orleans jazz and soul, with a touch of smoky bar-room romanticism. Over his career, Jarrod has been part of multiple Detroit bands and toured nationally and internationally. He's also an active studio musician and composer for stage, film, and video. Performing under his own name, he leads ensembles in various genres. At the Cliff Bell’s brunch concert, he shared his rich musical mix in a relaxed, authentic setting.
