For Pete’s Sake – Pete Seeger Birthday Concert

Each year in Ann Arbor, The Ark honors Pete Seeger, the celebrated folk artist and activist, who passed in 2014. On May 15, 2025, the For Pete’s Sake concert featured special guest Reggie Harris, a respected folk musician and educator who also performed at the 2014 Lincoln Center tribute, along with well-known Michigan artists including Annie & Rod Capps, Billy King, Dani Darling, Hoodang, Judy Banker, Kylee Phillips, Matt Watroba, Mustard’s Retreat, San, Laz, and Emily Slomovits. The evening mixed storytelling and singalongs in the spirit of Pete Seeger’s uplifting audience participation tradition, offering a warm community experience for folk music fans.
