Benefit for Master Drummer George Davidson

George Davidson began his musical journey tap dancing at eight and later studied with greats like Rex T. Hall and James Thurston at Wayne State University. His career spanned collaborations with Motown legends including The Four Tops and The Supremes, along with jazz, pop, and blues icons like Aretha Franklin and Eddie Harris.

At Cliff Bell’s, the house rhythm section featured Tad Weed on piano, Kurt Krahnke on double bass, and Pete Siers on drums, all close friends of George. Between 8 and 11 p.m., guest musicians and vocalists joined a jam session. If you missed the event but wanted to help, donations were accepted online.
