Moulin Rouge De Detroit featuring The Shivas
Portland's The Shivas bring their garage-flavored rock 'n' roll to The Majestic Theatre in Detroit on Thursday, December 31, at 8:45 p.m. for Moulin Rouge De Detroit, with Mirror Mask, Randy & The Yeah Babys and The Chloe Drallos Troupe. Tickets are available online.
The Shivas hail from Portland and carry on the Northwest rock 'n' roll tradition of bands like The Fabulous Wailers and The Frantics. Jared Molyneux writes the songs, Kristin Leonard and Ian Hartley drive things with a double-drum setup, and Rob Mannering's Telecaster and Eric Shanafelt's bass lock in the groove. They call their sound love punk, and it's made for dancing.
Also on the bill: Mirror Mask, Randy & The Yeah Babys, and The Chloe Drallos Troupe featuring The Hum, plus special guests MC Jezebel and DJ Johnny Athey.
This is an 18 and over show at 4140 Woodward Avenue.
