Karaoke Night Contest
On Friday, November 27, Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant opens the mic at 6 p.m. with open karaoke, then runs a full karaoke contest starting at 8 p.m. If you've ever wanted to take the stage, here's your shot.
Open mic karaoke runs from 6 to 8 p.m. so you can warm up your pipes. The contest kicks off at 8 p.m. and goes until 11. It's limited to the first 20 performers, first come, first served, and registration closes at 8 p.m.
Local celebrity judges score entertainment value, song choice, staying on track with the music, pitch accuracy and overall performance. The Top 3 sing a second song in the final round, then 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are named. Ties get settled with an extra song picked by the DJ. The judges' decisions are final.
You can compete once per week unless you make the Top 3. The contest runs every Friday in November.
