Sammy Rae & The Friends – the GET DOWN
Sammy Rae & The Friends, a band that blends funk, folk, soul and classic rock, play The Majestic Theatre in Detroit on Wednesday, March 3, 2027, at 7 p.m. If you want a family-style night full of big vocals and tight musicianship, tickets are $49.89.
Sammy Rae moved to New York City from Connecticut in her early 20s. With no built-in circle of friends, she built one herself, and that became The Friends. The band sees itself as a family first, and the audience is part of it, which shapes their live shows.
Their sound mixes classic rock, folk and funk with touches of soul and jazz. They've put out two EPs, The Good Life (2018) and Let's Throw a Party (2021), and played festivals like Bonnaroo's main stage, Sound on Sound and All Things Go. Their debut album, Something For Everybody, came out in 2024, and two new singles, You Just Wanna Get With My Friend and Boogie All By Yourself, are out now.
The show starts at 7 p.m. and is presented by AEG Live.
