For about a decade, this Sunday-night jam has been a Detroit hub for jazz musicians learning their craft in a guided, safe, all-ages setting. You can work on collaboration, communication, improvisation and building repertoire, and meet other players along the way. The house trio of jazz educators can help you out, or you can do your own thing.

It's a good night for listeners too. Three hours of music, 7 to 10 p.m., with groups in all kinds of configurations, from middle schoolers to pros. There's no cover charge, and plenty of food and drink options.
