Stonewall Run Club
Affirmations LGBTQ+ Community Center's run club sets off from Affirmations on Nine Mile Road in Ferndale on Wednesday, February 24, at 6:30 p.m. Pick the 5K or 10K route, then finish at Soho or Sidecar Slider Bar.
The route starts outside Affirmations (290 W Nine Mile Rd) and ends behind Soho and Sidecar Slider Bar. On even weeks (2nd and 4th) the finish is Soho, and on odd weeks (1st and 3rd) it's Sidecar Slider Bar. The 5K loops through Livernois, Albany, Marshall and Allen, while the 10K stretches out toward Central and Pinecrest. A GPX route is available for download on the event page.
Weather calls are made by 11 a.m. each Wednesday based on radar. If there's rain, lightning or unsafe conditions, the run is canceled and becomes a social meetup at Soho or Sidecar Slider Bar from 7 to 8 p.m. No update by 11 a.m. means the run is on. Watch the Stonewall Detroit and Affirmations social accounts for announcements.
