For about a decade, this Sunday evening jam has been a hub for Detroit jazz musicians to learn in a guided, safe, all-ages setting. Music Hall education director Scott Gwinnell created and runs it. Players can work on collaboration, communication, improvisation and building repertoire, and meet other musicians.

Jammers can get help from the house trio of jazz educators or just do their own thing. It's a good listen too: from 7 to 10 p.m. the groups rotate, from middle school students to professionals. There's no cover, and plenty of food and drink options.
